Carmel C. D’Amato is an attorney specializing in family law matters.  Her specific areas of expertise include matters involving divorce, child custody and visitation, property division, child support, spousal support, domestic violence, elder abuse and civil harassment restraining orders as well as enforcement of family court orders.

Carmel graduated from Shasta High School in Redding, California.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Law and Society from the University of California, Davis where she also served on the leadership board for Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women.  She graduated cum laude from Seattle University School of Law and returned to Shasta County upon completion of her Juris Doctorate degree to pursue a practice in the area of family law.  Her previous legal experience in Shasta County includes work with the Shasta County Public Defender and Shasta County Family Law Facilitator.

Carmel has served as both the Vice President and Member-at-Large of the Shasta-Trinity Counties Bar Association, in addition to serving for two years as the Chair of the Family Law Section of the local Bar Association.  She volunteers for the legal clinic at One SAFE Place and received the Outstanding Service Award for Client Services in 2014.
